This year’s annual Mayobridge Village Springclean took place earlier today. It was perfect weather and an opportunity to get out and about and make a difference to our community. Volunteers congregated at the river at 1pm. In military precision Gillian Fitzpatrick assigned teams with distinct patches to tackle. All armed with high-Vis vests, litter pickers, bags and gloves provided by NMDC we were ready to do battle against the plight of carelessly discarded waste. Of course all kinds of wonders can be spotted when attention is turned to the ground! After filling bin liners with an array of old drinks bottles, empty crisp packets and various pieces of scrap, volunteers left their bags at a location for council collection tomorrow. Far from a chore, all agreed it was good fun, uplifting and all working as a community. A huge thank you to Gillian Fitzpatrick and our Club who worked in unison to get this initiative rolling and to all the volunteers who helped out today. 🙌1AD34786-E3B9-41DD-8642-940BBB2C6258
