MAYOBRIDGE NOTES
The new football season started off on a winning note for both the Reserve and Thirds teams. In the All County Premier Reserve League Mayobridge defeated neighbours Burren by 2-9 to 0-5 while in the Felix Darby Cup competition the Thirds scraped home by a point against Annaclone, 1-8 to 1-7.
Well done to the Down team and management on their victory over Carlow on Saturday which should ensure Division Two football next season.
The club is busy gearing up for the new season across all codes and age levels and we are appealing for new volunteers to get involved in the running of the various club activities. If you are interested in helping out in any capacity then please come along to the Social Club on Wednesday evening (20th March) at 7.30.pm. for a cup of tea and you will be welcomed with open arms.
The club would like all its members to tune into the Win an A1 house Facebook page to view “The Greatest Showman” video which was recorded last week, you won’t be disappointed. Please ensure you share the video and show everyone the fantastic community we live in.

A reminder to the community that there are six defibrillators available in the Mayobridge local area and are positioned as follows, Social Club at exterior front door, Youth and Community Centre in the lounge area, Gorman’s Bar on front wall of building, Church Vestry on right hand side window sill, St. Patrick’s Primary School in reception area, Eurospar Shop beside exterior ATM machine.
The Committee and members of Mayobridge GAC deeply regret the passing of Barney Grant, Leode Road, father of our former Assistant Secretary and Assistant Treasurer Tom and wish to express sincere sympathy to Tom and his sisters Maria and Bernarde, brother Damian, Barney’s sisters, Philomena, Anne, Irene, Geraldine, Concepta, Delia, brothers, Patsy, Tommy, Charlie, Gerry and Martin, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law and the extended Grant family circle.
