MAYOBRIDGE NOTES
On Friday night the club held its first Members Mini Draw which was for those people who had paid £100 to become a member of the Friends of Mayobridge GAC. The lucky winner was Ciaran Marron from Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan who won his money back plus four more for his friends. This draw is open to everyone who would like to become a member of the Friends of Mayobridge GAC and qualify for the main draw which is going to be held in August. First prize in the major draw is a house valued at £150,000, second is a Honda CRV, third is £10,000, fourth a cruise valued at £3,000, two prizes of £2,500, two of £2,000, one of £1,500 and one of £1000.

Training will commence on Wednesday (6th February) at the ball wall and/or field weather permitting for U-8, U-10 and U-12 Girls football.

The club invites all underage members and parents to please familiarise yourselves with the GAA Code of Behaviour documents (see link below) for all our underage members. It emphasises FAIR PLAY, RESPECT, EQUALITY, SAFETY and NO DISCRIMINATION in all aspects of our work with children and young people. The Liofa Gaeltacht Bursary Scheme is now open. This scheme provides funding for eligible children to attend Gaeltacht Courses in Donegal this summer. The form can be downloaded from the Department for Communities website. If anyone needs any help with their application the club’s Irish language officer will be available in the social club on Wednesday night (6th February) from 7.30.pm to 8.00.pm. to provide guidance. All forms must be returned before 5th March.
SAHS Quiz night in Grants Bar on Friday 15th February at 8 pm. £5 per head.
Pensioners luncheon club every Thursday in Mayobridge Golf Club at 1 pm. Tea, coffee and lunch provided. Suggested donation is £5 to cover expenses.
St. Patrick’s Primary School, Mayobridge is organising “A Night at the Dogs” on Saturday 2nd March at Dundalk stadium. Tickets are £60. Coach travel will also be available at a cost of £5 per person. Promises to be a good night out so get your ticket as soon as possible.
