2020 Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps
At a recent meeting held in the Burrendale Newcastle week commencing 3rd February regarding 2020 Kellogg’s Cùl Camps, a number of legislative changes at national level are going to impact on how the camps are run moving forward both Nationally and internally within Down.
The introduction of a strict 1 Adult to 8 Children supervisory ratio will have a big impact on how we in Down GAA deliver Cúl Camps. As was discussed on Tuesday night, Down GAA will be implementing the following changes to the camps from 2020 and beyond.
  1. Down GAA will no longer offer Nursery Camps. All attendees at Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps must be aged between 6 and 13 years old, as per the national programme policy.
  2. All Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camp bookings must be done via the Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps website. Cash payments to clubs / walk-ins will no longer be facilitated.
  3. Each Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camp will have a maximum attendance cap, stipulated by Down GAA.
  4. The online Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camp registration will close two weeks before the camp commences or when the maximum capacity is reached (whichever occurs first).
  5. Down GAA will allocate a camp week / date to each club.
  6. It is a requirement moving forward that each club provides one adult volunteer (over 18) whowill be on-site at all times during the Cúl Camp. This person must be Access NI cleared and have completed a GAA Child Protection Course.
The pricing structure (set by the GAA Nationally) for the 2020 Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps will be as follows:
1st Child: £55
2nd Child: £50
Each Child Thereafter: £45 each
Second Camp Attendee (no kit): £45

I would ask that you also pay close attention to the attached documentation, distributed to all counties by Tom Ryan’s office in Croke Park, earlier this week.
